The O.R.B.I.T. Mentor Network connects students with researchers who can provide guidance, methodological expertise, professional insight, and research mentorship.
WHO CAN MENTOR
Mentorship should be appropriate to the mentor’s experience, the student’s needs, and the scholarly work involved. Participation is subject to fit and organizational capacity.
WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE
Mentors can indicate the type and level of participation that best aligns with their expertise, availability, and preferred form of contribution.
Provides guidance to individual students or research teams.
Provides higher-level scholarly oversight where appropriate.
Contributes to research education and methodology workshops.
Reviews Academy materials for methodological and scientific accuracy.
Participates in seminars, panels, and research conversations.
Provides specialized methodological or subject-matter expertise.
JOIN THE NETWORK
Mentor participation does not require the same commitment from every contributor. The combined Project Lead / Research Mentor Application allows researchers to identify the role that fits them best.
Research mentors and Project Leads use the same form.
