CURIOSITY IS A STARTING POINT
There is a place for you here.
You do not need a particular background, major, identity, or level of research experience to participate in ORBIT. We are a student-led organization built around shared curiosity and a commitment to making scholarly participation more accessible.
01Different starting points
Students enter academic and professional spaces with different levels of access, resources, and prior experience. ORBIT strives to make research, mentorship, professional development, and academic opportunities easier to find and participate in.
02More perspectives. Better questions.
Our student-led community brings together different backgrounds, disciplines, experiences, and identities. We value the questions and insights these perspectives bring to research and inclusive collaboration.
03Respect in how we work
We encourage respectful participation, thoughtful listening, and space for different experiences. Intersectional perspectives matter: people’s experiences can be shaped by several overlapping aspects of their lives and identities.
What this means at ORBIT
We work to make research, mentorship, professional development, and academic opportunities more accessible to students from different backgrounds and starting points. We encourage respectful collaboration, welcome different perspectives, and strive to create an environment where students can participate, learn, contribute, and grow.
Different perspectives. Shared curiosity. One community.
